Watford have become the third Premier League club after Aston Villa and Brighton to officially voice their objection against the resumption of the competition at neutral venues.

The Premier League is planning a return to action in June, subject to the green light from the government, with the remaining 92 matches to be held without spectators at neutral grounds.

Chairman and chief executive of Watford Scott Duxbury, however, said that the plan is against "fairness and sporting integrity" and it could end the time of a small club like Watford in the Premier League.

Duxbury further added that there are "enough clubs "against the decision now and the Premier League needs to provide a plan that serves the interests of all the 20 teams in the league.

Watford were 17th in the table with 27 points when the competition was suspended indefinitely due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
